Positives

There is a lot I have to rant about right now, from the latest NDIS heckery to my cardiologist still insisting that the only thing that will help me is bariatric surgery, but that’s not what tonight is for. Tonight is for positives.

1: I do not have the ‘rona! I do have a sinus infection, but that is manageable. I am taking my antibiotics and resting and not having COVID, and that is good. We didn’t think it was likely that I had it anyway, but I had to get tested because I had a fever, bloody discharge from my nose, and I’m in a high-risk group. My GP doesn’t like taking any chances with me. So I went and got my nose swabbed and I heard back within 12 hours. So that’s a negative that’s a positive.

b. I was feeling jittery and restless and discontent earlier, so I went and did some sewing, and now I have nice, soft, pretty sheets that I had bought and needed to adjust for my sofa bed, and a new sleep dress with pockets for my pump. I’m a bit sore and tired, because sewing is physical in a way a lot of people don’t really get and my muscles are still not doing great, but I was careful and I took breaks and now I feel accomplished rather than “I do nothing all day”.

#. I have wonderful, supportive friends and family who I love very much, and even if I can’t see them very much right now, I hope they know how much they mean to me.

Good night, moon. Tell your people that you love them. Be thankful for the things you’re thankful for. Hug a cat when you can. Listen to some nice music and have some tea. And remember that I’m proud of you.
